Manchester United are prepared to offer a record-breaking £105 million for dynamic French forward, Randal Kolo Muani.

Ever since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo prior to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag has looked to acquire a forward to elevate the squad.

“I think we have a good team when all the players are available, but with many games coming up, I think there is a need [for a new striker].”

— Erik Ten Hag

His suspected striker of choice is Randal Kolo Muani, a 24-year-old from Eintracht Frankfurt who gained global recognition after a great World Cup campaign. Kolo Muani scored a beautiful goal after just 44 seconds of coming into the game against Morocco to send ‘The Blues’ to the World Cup finals. As well, he assisted Kylian Mbappe with a miraculous cross in the finals to send the game to extra time.

Kolo Muani has also surpassed expectations with German club Eintracht Frankfurt, where he has accumulated eleven goals and ten assists in twenty-three matches in the Bundesliga. He has played numerous games as a winger on either side, as well as a striker and centre forward, proving himself as a dynamic attacking force.

Yet, Manchester United are not the only team interested in Kolo Muani. Paris-Saint Germain are also interested in acquiring the talent of the French native, with his relationship with PSG star Kylian Mbappe being a prime motivator for the transfer.

Manchester United have struggled without a permanent striker, mainly relying on loanee Wout Weghorst for that role. Procuring a forward like Kolo Muani could help shape the future culture of Manchester United’s forward line.

A £105-million transfer would surpass Paul Pogba’s as the most expensive Manchester United transfer of all time. This begs the question of whether the costly investment of Kolo Muani will benefit the Red Devils or will he be another misplacement of funds?
